How to schedule LinkedIn posts with ChatGPT or Claude
postmoderno now publishes to LinkedIn. Connect your profile once, then ask ChatGPT, Claude or another MCP client to draft and schedule LinkedIn posts. No per-post fee.
You can now schedule LinkedIn posts by asking ChatGPT or Claude. Connect your LinkedIn profile to postmoderno once, connect postmoderno to your AI client, then say what to post and when. postmoderno publishes it to your profile at that time, whether or not your laptop is open.
LinkedIn joins Bluesky, Mastodon and X, so one request can go to all four.
What you can post to LinkedIn
- Text up to 3,000 characters, LinkedIn’s own limit.
- Up to nine images in one post.
- Posts on your personal profile.
Ask for “a LinkedIn post and a short version for X” and the agent writes both. The X one stays under X’s 280 characters.
Not yet:
- company pages
- video
- a first comment under the post. postmoderno can schedule replies under a post on X, Bluesky and Mastodon, but not on LinkedIn.
Set it up
It takes about five minutes and fits in the free plan.
- Sign in at postmoderno.io with your email address. You don’t need a password or a card.
- In the app, open connections, pick LinkedIn and approve on linkedin.com.
- Connect your AI client. ChatGPT and claude.ai sign in to postmoderno directly; Claude Code, Cursor and other clients use a key you create in the app. The setup guide has the steps for each.
Ask for a post
Ask the way you would ask a colleague:
Turn these release notes into a LinkedIn post. Keep it under 150 words and show it to me before you schedule anything.
Schedule it for Tuesday at 9am New York time.
Post a short version on X at the same time.
Before anything is scheduled, the agent shows you what postmoderno checked: the time in your timezone and in UTC, the accounts it goes to, how much of your plan it uses, and anything that would stop it. Nothing goes out until you say yes. Once the post is live, postmoderno gives you its link.
A few more requests to try:
- “What goes out on LinkedIn this week?”
- “Move Tuesday’s post to Wednesday, same time.”
- “Remember that on LinkedIn I write in full sentences and skip emojis.”
postmoderno stores notes like that last one, so every AI client you connect writes your LinkedIn posts the same way.
What it costs
A LinkedIn post costs nothing extra. It counts as one of your plan’s monthly posts, the same as a Bluesky or Mastodon post. The free plan includes 60 posts a month, with up to 30 scheduled at once, on up to three connected accounts. X is the exception, because X charges for every post; the pricing page explains how X posts are paid for.
LinkedIn’s approval runs out after two months
When it does, open connections and connect LinkedIn again. If a post fails because of it, ask your agent “why did that post fail?”. postmoderno keeps a record of every publish attempt, so the agent can tell you.
Questions
Can ChatGPT post to LinkedIn by itself?
No. ChatGPT can write a LinkedIn post, but it has no access to your LinkedIn account and no way to publish later. With postmoderno connected as an MCP server, ChatGPT drafts and schedules through it, and postmoderno holds the LinkedIn connection and publishes at the time you chose.
Can Claude schedule LinkedIn posts?
Yes, with postmoderno connected. claude.ai connects in its connector settings, and Claude Code with a key you create in the app. After that, “schedule this on LinkedIn for Monday at 8am” is enough.
Does it work with other AI tools?
Any client that supports MCP, the Model Context Protocol, can use it. Cursor and other MCP clients connect with a key you create in the app.
Can it post to a LinkedIn company page?
Not yet. Posts go to the personal profile you connect.
Do I need to keep my computer on?
No. postmoderno publishes from its own servers at the scheduled time.
Is my LinkedIn password shared?
No. You approve postmoderno on linkedin.com, and LinkedIn gives it permission to post on your behalf. postmoderno never sees your password, and you can remove its access from LinkedIn’s settings at any time.
